Orgueil means “Pride”. We are very proud to spotlight the Melon de Bourgogne grape on an unexpected wine making process with méthode traditionnelle.

 

Name: Orgueil Blanc

Appellation: Vin Mousseux de Qualité – Methode traditionnelle

Varietal: 100% Melon de Bourgogne

Harvest: Grapes are harvested at the heart of Château de Chasseloir wines at a precoce maturity.

Wine making process: The base wine is made from the heart of the chateau de Chasseloir. All the wine making process has been done at the estate. After fermentation in underground concrete vats, the wine takes on its mousse from a second fermentation and then is matured on lees during fourteen months. The entire process is made by our team at the winery including aging and disgorgement. The dosage was chosen brut to keep the complexity and freshness of the wine.

Terroir: schistuous soil, south exposure

Vine age: 40 years old

Food pairing: As it is a festive wine, you can choose to pair it with all your aperitif parties. Also, this wine is very complex and can be paired during a meal with shellfish and white meat.
